How To Browse Anonymously Online

by Apr 27, 2021Information Technology

This article is going to talk about how to browse the Internet anonymously and securely. One of the ways to achieve this is through a VPN service (Virtual Private Network). Let me give you a brief overview of why you might want to start using one.

Many people in today’s world are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain their privacy online. And while some may be able to rely on their anonymity while browsing various websites, many others are not so lucky. This is because there are many bandwidth providers out there who sell data about your online activity for advertising purposes. And while, of course, some people may find targeted advertising useful or entertaining, it is still not something that everyone wants to have a hand in.

Another reason why people turn to VPNs is to ensure that their data and their identity won’t fall into the hands of hackers or others who wish to do them harm. And a VPN can also allow you to do things like access geo-locked content (which otherwise would have been unavailable).

Nowadays, there are many VPN services out there, but few truly stand out from the crowd. That said, a VPN service can be very confusing for newbies, and even those with more experience may find it difficult to find the right one for them. Thankfully, however, some VPN services are better than others.

Private Internet Access is one of the best VPN services available right now. And it comes with all the features that you might need from a reliable and trustworthy VPN service.

History of Private Internet Access

Private Internet Access is an American-based VPN service that has been in operation since 2009. Founded by Andrew Lee, it was established to provide a reliable alternative to expensive Internet services and ISP services that large telecommunications companies like Comcast owned. It provides a wide range of VPNs, each tailored for different purposes, such as security and P2P file-sharing. Today, Private Internet Access is one of the most popular VPNs worldwide, with over 3 million IP addresses connecting through their servers every day.

When Andrew Lee started Private Internet Access in 2009, he had two goals: to give people more privacy online and to make the Internet faster. Met with both success and failure, Private Internet Access launched its first VPN service in January 2011 with a dedication towards protecting user privacy from some of the most intrusive entities on the internet. In the years since Private Internet Access has evolved and grown into one of the most trusted VPNs worldwide. Their network of servers covers over 70 countries, with over 3 million IP addresses shipped to users every day.

About Private Internet Access

The first thing that you will notice about Private Internet Access is its ease of use. The dashboard is simple and easy to navigate, and the service offers various types of connections for all types of people (e.g., there are options for Linux, Mac OSX, Windows, or mobile users). All of this means that you can count on Private Internet Access to be good to go for any internet user.

The interface also has several other useful features, including Split Tunneling and Tor over VPN. This is an optional feature that allows users to protect their privacy and security by routing all traffic through their OpenVPN connection (which uses the Tor network). This makes it a lot harder for anyone to track you because your IP address will never be directly visible.

Private Internet Access also offers extras like a kill switch, DNS leak protection, and AES 256-bit encryption.

But the best thing about Private Internet Access Access is that it’s using OpenVPN TCP/UDP and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

There really isn’t much more to say about Private Internet Access Access with all this in mind. It’s an excellent VPN service that offers the best in privacy and security.

So now, without further ado, I’ll talk about how to use a VPN to browse anonymously and securely. And we’ll be starting with Private Internet Access (which is what I use for myself).

How to browse anonymously with Private Internet Access

If you’re using Private Internet Access, then all you need to do is download the client, install it, launch it, and enjoy. Here’s how:

First of all, I must point out that using a VPN can be quite confusing for some people. So I want to give you a quick rundown of the basics so that you can get started right away.

1 – Launch the app and log in (if this is your first time logging in) or launch the app and click on Sign In (if you already have an account).

2 – Once you’ve done that then click on Connect.

3 – Lastly, click on the Choose a Server button.

From here, you can select a server that’s appropriate for your location or your needs. So if you’re outside of the US, I would highly recommend switching to one of the servers located in Europe. If (like me) you’re often on public Wi-Fi connections where your IP address can be tracked or passed along to advertisers, then choosing one of the US servers is not going to help you in this respect. Finally, there are two options for port numbers: UDP and TCP instead of OpenVPN (which uses port 443). Using OpenVPN is the best option for most people because it provides the best security. However, if you want to use split tunneling, then you can choose a port number. Additionally, some people may find that UDP works better than TCP for streaming media services, and so this is another option to explore (but TCP will always be more secure).

Conclusion

And there you have it! With a few clicks of your mouse or tapping on your screen, you’ll be able to browse the web with complete privacy and anonymity. And that’s why I love Private Internet Access so much. It’s an easy-to-use VPN service with just about all features that anyone could want or need from a reliable VPN service (e.g., great customer support, DD-WRT support, AES 256-bit encryption, and a reliable OpenVPN protocol when it comes to security).
